Seven at home (7th Heaven) is an American television series with 243 episodes of 42 minutes, created by Brenda Hampton and posted between 26août1996 and 8mai2006 on WB (seasons 1-10) and between and the 25septembre2006 13mai2007 on The CW (season 11). In France, the series is broadcast on TF1 since 26décembre1999 and the last episode of the 11th season was broadcast on 13décembre2008. The series was also released in Switzerland on SF1. Produced by Aaron Spelling and E. Duke Vincent (Beverly Hills 90210), this series features the Rev. Eric Camden and his wife Annie who raise their five children in the small town of Glenoak. Matt (born 1980), Mary (born 1982), Lucy (b. 1983), Simon (b. 1986) and Rosie (born 1990) are aged respectively 17, 14, 12, 10 and 5 years in the early series. During episodes, the experiences of life are a pretext for moral lessons with a strong reference to religion. Emphasis is placed on the moral evolution of the characters. The series shows the challenges and benefits of a large family. Each episode gives rise to a reflection on life, its trials, its joys and the help that God can make in response to these problems. Jessica Biel posed nude to change its image and be polite girl and excluded from the series. But the producers did not give in and kept the actress in the family. The strong presence of the Protestant (particularly demonstrated by the occupation of the husband who is a pastor) and beyond, the ubiquity of Christian morality, are causing controversy even within Western countries.
