It was founded by Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, the twins by Ricky Nelson. They had in September 1990 with "(Can not Live Without Your) Love and Affection," a number one hit in the U.S.. The band released until 1995 on Geffen Records, after the separation, she sold her CDs on her own label, Stone Canyon Records. Until now, they managed not to tie their success with the debut album. Since Matthew and Gunnar Nelson grew up in a musical family, they have always been familiar with music. In the early 1980s she joined the band Strange Agents. Later, she then established her own band with which they were signed to Geffen Records. 1990, released her debut album After the Rain has been a success and the band went on tour to promote the album. The single "(Can not Live Without Your) Love and Affection" became a number one hit in the U.S.. Following the tour, the band began to produce their second album. The result was a much harder album than the first, the concept album Imaginator. When the album Geffen Records has been presented, the label was too hard for it and threatened to throw the tape from the label, if not a new recording would be recorded, which corresponded more to their taste. The band spent an additional year to record another album. This album Because They Can Label and in 1995 was accepted by the public. As the popular music for five years after the Rain had changed considerably, Geffen decided to not promote the album and dismissed Nelson finally. Then founded the Nelson brothers their own label Stone Canyon Records, where they released Imaginator 1996th With this label they have to date released four more albums, a tribute album to her father.
