Alexander Mcqueen

Born in the Est End of London, the son of a taxi driver. Since childhood he started designing clothes for her three sisters and even then he had a clear intention to become a designer. Alexander McQueen graduated from the prestigious St. Martins College of Art & Design in London. His talent did not go unnoticed by the tailors Anderson & Sheppard of Savile Row traditional street, who offered him to join the firm. From there he went to work for Romeo Gigli and Koji Tatsuno before opening his studio in East London. After creating his own label, McQueen began to be known in the British tabloids thanks to a groundbreaking designs backed by a small but loyal clientele among which included leading figures from the worlds of fashion, like the stylist Isabella Blow. In October 1996, McQueen won the award for Best Designer of the Year (Best British Designer of the Year). A few days later he was appointed successor to John Galliano at the helm of Givenchy design house, thanks to his "brilliant creativity and technical mastery." In 1997, the year in which created four collections for Givenchy and two for his own label, McQueen shared the award for best British designer John Galliano year. In December 2000, the prestigious Gucci acquired the majority stake in the firm of McQueen. This allowed him to opt out of the Givenchy and LVMH, in his words, limited his creativity. His image of "enfant terrible", along with their creativity and expertise in the court have made him one of the largest and most controversial designers of fashion history. His rise to power was a fairy tale in its own right. McQueen's style was characterized by brutality tempered lyricism. The Gothic sensibility of a Brothers Grimm tale is closer to the spirit of the McQueen clothes fetishism, gore and misogyny of his detractors accuse him. No matter how dark they were his designs, always had a femininity which were attracted from Björk to the current Duchess of Westminster. The influence of angular and aggressive cuts has its origin in the MGM costume designer Adrian, Christian Dior and Thierry Mugler. In 2003 he released his first perfume, Kingdom and a collection of menswear bespoke tailoring produced by Huntsman, the Savile Row London. In 2004, released first on the catwalk in Milan his collection prêt-à-porter men. McQueen was openly sympathetic and sincere. Not much was known of his personal life but much of what everyone wanted to believe is that he was homosexual. [1]. On February 11, 2010 was found dead in his London home at 40 years of age. [2] The police were called at 10.20 am and his body removed to 4.30pm. Some say that the designer committed suicide. The reason was associated with a hypothetical depression which had been going on since the death of his mother, just 10 days before his own death. In his Twitter page, McQueen had demonstrated its sadness at the death of his mother and also from a few months earlier. Paradoxically, his mentor, the fashion icon Isabella Blow, committed suicide three years ago also on the eve of Fashion Week in London, a fact which coincided with the death of McQueen.
