The Amrita gold Amrit (Sanskrit: ????; Punjabi: ???????) is, dharmic religions, immortal nectar or ambrosia. It is the drink of the deities, which gives them immortality. In Sanskrit, amrita word literally means "without death". The amrit illustrates the myth of the Churning of the Sea of Milk, that the gods, because of a curse of the sage Durvasa, lost their immortality. They waved to the high seas in search of nectar of immortality. Once it found and drunk, he allowed them to regain their immortality and defeated the demons. In the philosophy yogie, amrita is a fluid that flows from the pineal gland to the throat, in states of deep meditation. The Amrit is the name of holy water used during the baptism ceremony (known as Amrit Sanskar or Amrit Chhakhna). The ceremony allows the entry of Sikhs in the Khalsa brotherhood. It requires that drinking amrit. The water is prepared by dissolving various ingredients, including sugar, then mixing it with a Khanda sword, while reciting the five Banis (chants) sacred. The amrita, under its Tibetan name of Dutse, also illustrates the myth of Tibetan Buddhism, that when the monster Rahu was struck by Vajrapani, his blood flowed on the surface of the earth, making it grow various kinds of medicinal herbs, which are now used to prepare the Dutse.
