Aubusson

The exhibition continues to illuminate CLAUDE BAZILIER the days of visitors. Just read the book to judge the benefits of this exposure. This exhibition developed with the kind help of John Estaque inaugurated Thursday, June 3 was born of the will of Marie Claude and Danielle Bazilier to present works of their father, in a sense a tribute above all to share. The desire to discover or rediscover the works of a gay artist and light served as a guideline for the desired exposure by the city of Aubusson and especially Nicole Dechezleprêtre deputy mayor in charge of Culture. The spirit of sharing, in color and gaiety, was imaging by his friend Jean Estaque reveals a brilliant artist. CLAUDE BAZILIER has created works on multiple media and involving very different techniques: Totem wooden polychrome paintings on canvas on frame, bag painting, wood and cardboard cut silhouettes .... Bright colors, the mischievous, humor sometimes works of Claude BAZILIER remain alive and we wanted to give them, once again, the possibility of their lives, before probably be forced to shut them up, sleeping beauties, in an attic. We are convinced that the purpose of a work is yet to be seen, watched, thought that her beauty must be spread, move, continue to question, to enliven, enlighten. That is why we are selling the works of Claude Bazilier. The prices of works, rather low, therefore an invitation to share their form of optimism and vitality and having fun, by offering a work, or making a gift to someone special. Marie-Claude and Danielle Bazilier. Starting today, you can find the white paper of the States General of Youth by clicking on the logo to the right of this page.
Aubusson is a small village lost in the middle of France in the Creuse region. XI century and today has about 4,000 inhabitants. As I say, is a small town, but when I visited I saw him in high spirits for the region in which it is. The regions of the countryside, particularly in central France, are being deserted as many young people go to cities for work, but lately, due to interest in the area among foreigners (mainly English), remain something alive, especially in summer. Aubusson is famous for its textiles, hosting a large textile industry during the past five centuries. Provided for the royalty with large rugs and tablecloths, made from top quality fabrics. Even today carpets and tablecloths are made, many of which go to the homes of important people in the world of politics and with strong purchasing power. The latter is most important as a carpet of 1 square meter can cost up to 4000-5000 euros. When people crosses the river Creuse, and is arranged in several levels, since the hill is right next to the River. There are several old stone bridges worthy of admiration, and the wooden houses are true relics, most of them folded over time and for being built all living elements of nature (wood, fabrics, yarns, mud). There was a castle on the hill, but today only ruins remain. It is a good place to start your visit, as it has great views of the people and to aim a little better. Aubusson To reach the car is best, although there are buses operated by the SNCF departing from other major towns such as Ahun or Guéret. The travel community where you can find places and corners by other travelers, compare prices on cheap flights and hotels, and especially you can share your trips.
