Auroshikha is an integral part of Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry. It was created in 1973, primarily for the purpose of providing employment opportunities to the inhabitants of the villages surrounding Auroville. In fact, Auroshikha was one of the pioneers in this field followed by many other organizations have followed suit benefiting a large number of people. The products manufactured are of high quality ranging from incense in standard rods, sticks 40 cm long, cones, bulk incense, resins, essential oils, perfumes, scented sachets to gift boxes .... The ingredients are of the highest quality, imported from various countries and are used according to Indian tradition combined with French techniques for fragrances designed by its director and specialist in perfumes, a Frenchman settled in India, with over 30 years experience in this field. All the fragrances used are in compliance with the IFRA (International Fragrance Association, Geneva, Switzerland.). Strict control is exercised not only in the selection of raw materials but at all stages of manufacture to ensure perfection in the finish. Once the process is carefully stored, packaged in boxes of products specifically made for them and designed so that products reach the market in perfect condition. Social services and welfare of their workers is a priority for Auroshikha. Workplaces are fresh and clean spaces well ventilated buildings. The work schedule is 8 hours with an intermission for lunch. They are affiliated to the social security rules, taking their pay unemployment and retirement. They have free medical provision for the worker and his family. Working women are 95% of the entire staff Auroshikha have paid maternity leave for 3 months. They charge two extra payments that coincide with local festivals, and its amount is equivalent to 2.5 months' salary. The Indian government has set strict rules for the welfare of workers who are respected in their entirety by Auroshikha.
