Byblos (in Arabic, ???? Jubayl) is a city of Lebanon, located on the north coast, 30 km from Beirut. Situated on a hill was an ancient Phoenician city, called in the cuneiform texts Gubla and Gebal in the Bible. It is believed to have been founded around 5000 BC, and according to sources Sanchuniathon attributed to the Phoenician historian, was built by Cronus, and was the first Phoenician city [1].
