Chatto Skin Care

Few young bands Heavy hexagonal stand out from the competition, creating a genuine shift in expectations on the part of the listener. Messalina belongs to that breed apart, that of the singers for whom the verb is an art just as important to see more than the music. "War modest", their first album contained a gem written by Christian Decamps, the singer of the legendary Angel, called the "Quail with Fennel," an anthem for the public amateur spoonerisms .. With "In Cauda venenum" Messalina pushes this concept even further through texts as gritty and committed, that hilarious. Eric "Chattos" Martelat, singer and composer of the pamphlets of the combo is a kind of Raymond Devos who crossed the border to return to the dark side. "In cauda venenum" begins on the hubcap with a "Kind of icon" devilish. Eric takes care to articulate words of the tastiest, even if the chorus is still somewhat limited: "A species of icon, collapses, is worth a walk occult (and worship). A free bit of fun in perspective and hours of delightful discoveries grammar. Musically, Messalina revisits his classics: Iron Maiden, Motorhead and others, with pieces often closer to recovery than the original composition. This is one of the major flaws of the group, which breaks a lot less head on his melodies on his words. Messalina's even mastered the art of mixing existing songs including one from elsewhere, perfectly claimed "black nougat" cross between "Nougayork" by Claude Nougaro and Ideas Black "by Bernard Allison. Take, for example, the break in tempo in the middle of "Always low," borrowed as is the "Season in the Abyss" by Slayer, the chorus of "Blowing in the Cul de Lucifer" to "Emergency" Motörhead .. and what about "Zele chicken," the words of the most crisp, and looks like an outright takeover of the "Symphony of Destruction" by Megadeth (from a musical point of view is defined as text on the map the spoonerisms, it should not be too much stuff Mustaine's friend ..). I say no more because about all these word games, listening to "In Cauda venenum" and reading the book, is fun as it should to try to cast a bit of mystery thing. Incidentally, Michael Collignon, guitarist offers us a few solos in the pair to fade Friedman / Mustaine met, we prove that, besides being brilliant "clowns" of Metal, they are nonetheless of skilled musicians. Too bad they have not the means of their ambitions, because even if there is better compared to "modest Wars", the sound is still far from perfect. While it still lacks much power and depth .. Fortunately, all instruments are perfectly clear and distinct, as the voice of Eric. That's the main thing, finally.
