Claus Porto

Last smells like soap. In my case, a truth as a temple. Black soap pills Magno La Toja are certainly a landscape of my childhood. Always present in my grandparents' house, I was fascinated to see how a black pickup, the color of dirt par excellence, served precisely to eliminate it. I also loved finding myself in the drawers of my mother's underwear tiny bars of soap, the kind that they give you in hotels. And I like the silver soap of my father, who had been my grandfather, and the sense of keeping an old ritual every time you lift the lid with the initials of the family and smell the scent of vetiver. And maybe that's why in my wedding gift a piece of soap to guests, and always I have more soaps of need ... This particular fondness for soaps has stayed with me until today. And Claus Porto and all its manufacturing philosophy that permeates not only increase and reaffirm it. The first factory of soaps and perfumes Portuguese Porto was founded in 1887 by Ferdinand Claus and Georges Ph. Schweder, two Germans who lived in Portugal, at a time when these products were imported and were considered a privilege of wealthy classes. The factory started on the right foot and in 1903 achieved a certain popularity, but the participation of Germany in World War I forced the exile of the two founders and its closure ... Momentary. For his Portuguese partner, Achilles de Brito, and his brother Alfonso, took over and founded a new company in the same facilities, Ach. Brown & Co., and continued to produce soaps under the same brand Claus Porto. This new company soon grew and gained a reputation for innovation, quality and packaging of their products, investing heavily in R & D at the time, to improve flavor, texture, and even created their own lithography, to paint all labels by hand. In the decade of the 40 consolidated their position in the domestic market and in the Portuguese colonies and also began to export their products to the United Kingdom and the United States. The business suffered a bit in the 80s due to the loss of African colonies, stiff competition from multinationals and new distribution channels, but in the 90 Claus Porto was positioned back into the market as a quality label this both in supermarkets and big chains such as small shops and pharmacies. In 1994 they signed an alliance with the U.S. company that helped LAFCo making it the brand of soap crafters. And with good reason. Claus Porto soaps produces the best you can imagine, using the same method for over 120 years and almost all by hand. Soap paste is ground seven times, so that exhaust all the air and has a creamy texture, aroma and long lasting resistance. After the pads are laminated and sealed, one by one, with the same machines that were used to pedal more than 70 years and three weeks dejanmadurardurante for better consistency. Finally, each bar of soap is wrapped by hand, following a meticulous and delicate process. And the packaging ... it's the icing on the cake. Each range of soaps has its own distinctive brand and packaging, and each of the designs and labels are based on models of lithography that created the company in the 50s. The Claus Porto soaps are just like the Harley Davidson motorcycles are more than ... Little works of art that bring luxury to the everyday. A supernova is the explosion of a star that releases large amounts of energy. Its impact is such that sometimes seen with the naked eye in parts of the celestial sphere where previously there had detected nothing in particular.
Today I'll tell you about one of my biggest hits of the heart of the year, the brand Claus Porto. Founded in Porto in 1887 by Ferdinand Claus and Georges Ph. Schweder, home Claus Porto was the first manufacturer of soaps and perfumes from Portugal. Considered the most prestigious brand in the country, it has maintained the traditional methods that have made it famous. The products are made without artificial colors, no artificial colors or preservatives and are rich in shea butter. The entire range is presented in colorful Art Deco packaging, a mixture of kitsch folk added to this scents of yesteryear said more delicious than the other (amber-orange, almond, pear, sandalwood ...) and you have products that really does not leave indifferent. Moreover, Claus Porto has received in a huge publicity stunt because it was voted favorite brand of high priestess and queen Oprah Winfrey's media. And if Oprah says it's trend, it is the is! (If you say you do not know Oprah, is that you come from another planet, but where's his bio here). When she mentioned the name of the mark in his TV show, the New York store has been assailed by asking viewers to call the "Oprah Soap." Oprah is not the first to appreciate them before her Mademoiselle Chanel was a certain custom orders of these soaps. So I see you coming, you will ask me but how to get the same soap that Mademoiselle Chanel or Oprah? Prices range from around € 12 / 15 but not regular soap, however, it is part of the guide 101 Things to buy before you die (yes, I have good readings ...).
