Beaucoups of Blues is the second studio album in the musical career of Ringo Starr, released after their debut album Sentimental Journey in 1970. Anyway, Beacoups of Blues is very far from the classic style of its predecessor. While working with George Harrison on the album All Things Must Pass, which began to be recorded on April 26, 1970, Ringo met Peter Drake, who called for Harrison played guitar on their first album. Understanding your deep interest in country music, and after working on his album Nashville Skyline Bob Dylan, Peter Drake was held by Ringo to record an album together. At the time, Drake drew a good number of friends to compose numerous materials, so that Ringo chose their favorite songs. On July 22 he traveled to Nashville to begin recording sessions. While most of the tracks were recorded in just two days, from June 30 to July 1, Drake had previously produced several tracks with The Jordanaires on backing vocals, so that Ringo only had to add lead vocals to issues. The recording sessions were intensely productive and Ringo's voice is more suited to country music genre that old classic that was recorded for Sentimental Journey. Beacoups of Blues was released in September with some confusion on the part of his followers when the abrupt change in musical style is concerned. Although the album was better appreciated, did not enter the UK charts and only reached # 65 in the U.S.. Due to the warm commercial reaction, Starr failed to record new albums to focus on his second vocation: the interpretation. Beacoups of Blues was remastered and reissued on CD in 1995 with two bonus tracks: "Coochy Coochy" American B-side "Beacoups of Blues" and an impromptu session entitled "Nashville Jam".
