East Millcreek is a census-designated place (census-designated place or CDP) in Salt Lake County, Utah, USA. It is part of Millcreek Township. According to the 2000 census the population was 21 385 inhabitants, with a small increase respencot to 1990 when it had 21 184 inhabitants. According to the 2000 census, there were 21 385 inhabitants and 5,564 houses 7479 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1855.5 people / km ². He had 7707 housing units at an average density of 668.7 units per square kilometer. The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.04% White, 0.43% African American, 0.14% Native American, 1.45% Asian, 0.26% Pacific Islander, 1.08% from other races and 1.59% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.74% of the population. There were 7479 households out of which 33.2% had children under the age of 18 years, 62.2% were married couples, 9.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.6% were non-families . 20.7% of all households had only one resident and 10.2% had only residents over 65 years. The average household was 2.82 and the average family size was 3.31. The 26.8% of residents were younger than 18 years, 10.0% were aged between 18 and 24 years, 23.4% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64 and 18.3% who were 65 years or more. The mean age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 94.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.9 males. The median income for a household in the CDP was $ 57,678, and the median income for a family was $ 66,742. Males had a median income of $ 51,165 against $ 30,507 for females. The per capita income for the town was $ 25,206. Approximately 4.3% of families and 5.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 7.8% of those under age 18 and 2.8% over 65.
