Picasso is a member of the French Communist Party after the liberation, as some intellectuals. In January 1949, the PCF called on to design a Picasso drawing that symbolizes the Peace Movement. Picasso trace the outline of a dove, white doves as they keep in cages in his workshop and the trees of his childhood in Malaga. Picasso stated in this time: "I've never considered painting as an art of simple pleasure of distraction. These years of terrible oppression have shown me that I should not fight only for my art but also for myself." In the spring of that year Picasso's dove is set on all the walls of cities in Europe. As a result, the symbol will be used extensively in the propaganda of the peace movement. Specifically, in order to illustrate the posters of the Congress of the World Peace Council. The counter anti office Peace and Freedom will corrupt the image of the dove transforming it into a Soviet tank with the slogan: Dove makes bum!.
