Shaving, daily practice of many men, is a technique, by the action of one or more blades to remove (temporarily until next regrowth) facial hair. Since the invention of disposable blades and disposable razors, the razor is an object that uses everyday without much thought. There are billions in the world and multinationals are engaged in a battle razor ad at the height of economic issues. For example, each day, the company sells about 11 million BIC razors, or nearly 7,700 each minute in the world! Imagine the mountain of plastic waste and blades that represents. Add the mountain Gillette and Wilkinson mountain, and you will understand why the disposable razor is so damaging to the environment. We can build the old barbers who do not throw their blades after each course. They sharpen the blade on a leather strap by passing it several times almost parallel. If one uses the palm of his hand to rub ten times its disposable blade (from bottom to top or in the reverse shaving) by pressing enough, miraculously, she is like new! The cut cabbage requires no consumables, apart from the grinding paste that is used at extremely low: the leather and stone that maintain the sharpness and the cutting blade can be used for years and their regular maintenance can still increase their lifespan. Besides the quality of the steel and the assembly of the object (which partly explains the price), the life of cut cabbage is dependent for its proper maintenance, especially for carbon steel razor blade (steel more susceptible to rust but sharpens more easily than stainless steel). The safety razor is a razor where only T-shaped blade is replaceable. Unlike the cut-cabbage, so it does not need special maintenance. The name of safety razor is also commonly used. The quality of the shave, although slightly below the cut-cabbage, is better than multi-blade razor or a modern electric razor. Although its use requires some learning, it is much safer (hence its name) a cut-cabbage regarding the cuts.This is due to the space between the blade and the head (about 1mm) that avoids deep cuts. The last major manufacturers are Dovo (under the name Merkur) and Parker. It is fairly easy to find safety razors on the web at a good price (new as second hand), which is not often the case in traditional stores. Prices vary greatly between models of entry-level (about 20 €) and high-end models (over 100 €). The price of blades is on being very low (10-50 cents per slide) and they are findable everywhere (supermarkets, drugstores, on the net, etc.). The shaving soap is much more efficient and pleasant to use than the bombs of any kind: admittedly, it shaves better .. and especially for cheaper ..
