Patti La Belle was born on 24 May 1944 as Patricia Holt, was claimed by a child so shy that your mother gave your money to go play with other children. "My friends were dogs, cats and butterflies, no people friends. I sang for these animals and they gave me their applause and I thought, Ok I have to sing. ". to sing in the church then took her shyness and gave her the courage to sing professionally. With friend Cindy Birdsong, they formed the group the Ordettes and with new members Sarah Dash and Nona Hendrix was founded in 1961, the legendary Blue Bells. After several record companies bills and endless live performances, including in the legendary clubs, Apollo in New York and Fox in Detroit, which is now under a new name "Patti La Belle & the Blue Belles' group was known as a top act in the Kitchen. Especially Patties powerful vocals brought the crowd to a boil. Atlantic Records took the group in 1963 under contract. The debut single for the label "All Or Nothing" and subsequent hits "Grovy Kind Of Love" (later a hit for the English group in the Mindbenders and Phil Collins for 80 years) and an amazing version of Judy Garland's "Over the Rainbow "helped unfortunately not for the big breakthrough. I concur with other members. Patti should have way more plays! There should be at least 1,000,000 plays with the catalog of music she released! Most people forget she also records Pop, Adult Contemporary, Gospel. She has therefore recorded songs in the style of Disco, Funk, New Jack Swing, and touch that comes on Smooth Jazz. So, she is by no means singer only to R & B / Soul!. Such low plays, yet still Patti is easily one of the best vocalists ever. "Yo Mister" and "If You Only Knew" and plenty of other songs Patti will always be my jams.
