Paul Brown

The Paul Brown Stadium (nicknamed "The Jungle," "The PBS" or "The Hamilton County Correctional Facility) is a football stadium near Great American Ball Park (the stadium of the Cincinnati Reds Major League Baseball ) and the U.S. Bank Arena in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio (USA). He sits next to the site of the former Cinergy Field, which was demolished Dec. 29, 2002. Since 2000, its tenants are the Cincinnati Bengals, an American football team playing in the National Football League in the North Division of the American Football Conference. Its capacity is 65,535 seats in football configuration with 114 luxury suites and 7,620 club seats. The stadium is surrounded by a park that can hold over 5000 vehicles. The cost of building the stadium is valued at $ 455 million and Hamilton County owns the stadium. It was designed by the architectural firm NBBJ based in Los Angeles. The Paul Brown Stadium covers an area of 89,000 square meters, 47 meters high and has a capacity of 65,535 seats. Before moving to the Paul Brown Stadium, the Cincinnati Bengals played at Cinergy Field, a multisport stadium they shared with the Cincinnati Reds Major League Baseball. The Cinergy Field was beginning to show its age and obsolescence, so the Bengals focused on building a new stadium. In 1996, voters approved a referendum that allowed a new stadium to be built. The start of construction of the stadium took place April 25, 1998. Unlike many other teams in the NFL, the Bengals have decided not to sell the naming rights to the stadium. Instead, the team decided to honor its founder, Paul Brown, calling the stadium, Paul Brown Stadium. Paul Brown was a coach who is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and founder of the Cleveland Browns in 1946 and the Cincinnati Bengals in 1968. The Cincinnati Bengals have opened their first game at September 10, 2000. From the outside, the stadium has a futuristic architectural style with its smooth forms. Over 65,000 green seats are located throughout the stadium. The row of lower stand around the whole playground. The club seats and an upper row are located on both sides of the field. There are video screens / tables scores located above the seats in the south and north sides of the stadium. The Paul Brown Stadium has several amenities including 114 luxury suites, 7,620 club seats, two luxury restaurants, and a store Bengals. Because of ongoing problems with the grass field at the stadium, the Bengals decided to replace the surface with FieldTurf after the 2003 season. Shortly after the completion of the stadium, construction cost overruns have led the Hamilton County initiate legal action against NBBJ, the architectural firm that designed and built the stadium. The lawsuit was resolved in October 2004 for $ 14.25 million. Bengals fans call their stadium "The Jungle" as the natural habitat of the Bengal Tiger named to the club. It also refers to the song "Welcome to the Jungle" of the group Guns N 'Roses, which has always played in the intervals of the Bengals home games.
