Sublime (Latin: sublimis, "which is taking a stand" or "held in the air" [1]) in everyday language means something grand and impressive (stunning), which can nevertheless be perceived or understood with a fine sensitivity. As an aesthetic concept, the sublime refers to a quality or magnitude of extreme force which transcends beauty. The sublime is related to a sense of inaccessibility (to the immeasurable).
