Vidal Sassoon

The pioneer of the hairdresser Vidal Sassoon rose to fame nearly 50 years ago with geometric cuts and market knowledge which led to a global brand, but even today, believes that hairdressers do not get the respect they deserve. Sassoon became famous as a pioneer of hairdressing and style so famous 'neglected' wash and wear only ('Wash & Go')-releasing many women of her weekly trip to the salon for a hair-but also for having created a multimillion-dollar product line of hair care. The barber's life and career of 82 years is depicted in the film Vidal Sassoon The Movie ('Vidal Sassoon Film'), produced by Michael Gordon, founder of Bumble and Bumble salons. But while the hair care market in the United States moves more than 8,000 million dollars (about 5380 million euros) and 80,000 rooms in the country generated U.S. $ 16,000 million annually, according to industry data, Sassoon says that there are still people who consider hairdressing as a profession for weird people. " "The salon in general has not received the prestige it deserves," says Sassoon, who was unable to attend the festival after spending several weeks in hospital due to pneumonia. He also said: "It is not recognized by enough people as a profession worthy." "If you get the hair of a person you've never seen before, beautiful forms short, short, beautiful architectural angles and she goes off with a look very different, (..) I think that's brilliant," he added. The film shows the life of Sassoon from a poor childhood as a Jewish boy in London, to fight for Israel against the Arabs and the start of his career as a hairdresser, creating your company and becoming a TV star. He was born in the UK and spent several years in an orphanage as a child after his father abandoned the family. He left school at age 14 and began working as a hairdresser when her "had a vision" that his son should be devoted to the hairdresser. He opened his first salon at age 26 and decided that if I could not change the hairdresser in a decade, and would be devoted to architecture. Sassoon said he was inspired by wonderful facilities around the world for many of his haircuts. A big fan of Chelsea football club, Sassoon said, after working in the lounge all week, watching their team play every weekend was "better than a psychiatrist's couch." Sassoon, who now lives in America with his second wife and their four children from his first marriage, came the idea of selling hair products to "make money while people are asleep." He sold the rights to his name and hair products to the U.S. company Richardson-Vicks in 1983. The company is now owned by Procter & Gamble. © 2010 Europa Press. Not surprisingly, this name sounds: One of the best known brands of hair treatment. But it may be that many people may not know that behind it lies one of the big names in hairdressing. And, since past 70 years, continues with the same enthusiasm as when it started. The London-born British hairdresser had a tough childhood. Life is not easy to put it from the beginning, since his father abandoned him when he was only five years. He had to live six years in an orphanage until his mother remarried and he could take back their children. However, he could not afford to pay for studies to Vidal and decided to learn a trade: after a dream he had his mother, and although initially reluctant, it led him to work as an apprentice in the shop and beauty barbershop in his hometown. His story was full of struggle and willpower. Aware that her humble roots could stop it, do not hesitate to work hard. "The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary," came to say on occasion. Almost unknowingly began a career that eventually led him to fame. When Mary Quant in 1957 appeared before the public with its mythical miniskirt was he who had combed the famous creator for such an important occasion. In 1958 he opened his first hairdressing salon and was at that moment he began to bring news to the world of hairdressing: he decided to break with the traditional cuts introducing new geometric cuts. He soon began to attract a large number of clients in your living room, many famous actresses, pop stars and models. Sassoon said that some had to wait their turn sitting on the stairs. In 1959 he cut called "form", which is suited to bone structure and allowed complete freedom of movement. Represented a radical departure from the cuts and voluminous hairstyles worn for 50 years. Then all were innovations: the five-point edge geometry, cutting or cutting brush pen, always faithful to the new trends of fashion and comfort of women. With this letter, Vidal Sassoon soon became the preferred style of the stars and the creator of styles, like the actress Farrah Fawcett. One of his most memorable was the haircut for the film Mia Farrow Rosemary's Baby. One of the great marketing successes of the film was the haircut that accentuated the sickly and scared that it should have the character, and that the celebrity hairdresser Vidal Sassoon took place surrounded by reporters of the gossip of the day. And another of his clients was the model Twiggy, who gave a great new look thanks to the stylist: his long brown hair was replaced, through a radical court, and intense dye, in a short blond hair to the waiter. Currently living in Los Angeles with his wife, Ronnie, and is happy to monitor the rule of hairdressing salons, hair products and styling schools. He does not smoke and only drinks a couple of glasses of wine. Madeleine of Sweden and Luis Medina, together at a party in London. They were protagonists of the show "World Childhood Foundation, who chaired the princess.
